An American-built Gen. Sherman tank manned by a crew of the British 8th Army passes through a road block at Nicastro, Italy, as British forces pushed their way to the north to join the U.S. 5th Army. Today, the Allies are closing in on Naples having driven into the last mountain barrier before the blazing city.
